By using HeyLife ("the app", "the service", "we", "us"), you agree to these Terms of Service. Please read them. They're written in plain English.

1. Who can use HeyLife

HeyLife is designed for users 13 years and older. By using the service, you confirm that you are at least 13 years old. We do not knowingly allow users under 13.

2. What HeyLife is

HeyLife provides a daily notification service designed to encourage intentional living. The service includes:

  • • A daily message/nudge based on your tone preference
  • • A life counter (days alive calculator)
  • • An "I Lived Today" acknowledgement system
  • • Browser push notifications (optional)

3. What HeyLife is NOT

HeyLife is not a mental health service, medical provider, counselling service, or emergency service. It is not a substitute for professional mental health support. If you are experiencing a mental health crisis, please contact a qualified professional or emergency services.

4. Your account & data

HeyLife is local-first. Your data is stored on your device. You are responsible for:

  • • The accuracy of the information you provide (name, birthdate)
  • • Using the service for lawful, personal purposes only
  • • Not attempting to reverse-engineer, hack, or abuse the service

5. Advertising

HeyLife Web shows Google AdSense advertisements to non-paying users. Ads are placed below all primary content. We do not run interstitials, pop-ups, or ads that overlay the main content. By using HeyLife Web, you acknowledge that advertisements may be displayed. You can decline ad personalisation via the cookie consent banner.

6. Intellectual property

All notification messages, copy, branding, and design in HeyLife are our intellectual property. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without explicit permission. Your personal data (name, birthdate, preferences) belongs to you.

7. Disclaimer of warranties

HeyLife is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that notifications will be delivered at the exact requested time. Notification delivery depends on your browser, device, and network conditions.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, HeyLife and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the service.

9. Changes to terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We'll notify you of significant changes by updating the "Last updated" date. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
